On June 7th, the 2024 Chengdu "WORLD ACCREDITATION DAY" themed event, sponsored by the Chengdu Market Supervision Bureau and the Chengdu Development and Reform Commission, was held in Jianzhou New City, Eastern New Area, with the theme of "Green, Low Carbon, Going Global and Shaping the Future".

World Accreditation Day is a common holiday for countries around the world to promote and promote certification, accreditation, inspection and testing work. In October 2007, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) jointly designated June 9th as International Accreditation Day, and changed it to World Accreditation Day after 2010, with the aim of promoting the widespread development of accreditation and testing and certification worldwide. Every year before and after WORLD ACCREDITATION DAY, more than 100 IAF and ILAC members worldwide will hold commemorative events.

Under the strong promotion of the Chinese government's in-depth implementation of the quality building strategy, the annual theme of "World Accreditation Day" in China is closely linked to the needs of national development. The government, industry, and society participate widely, carry out rich and colorful exchanges, discussions, sharing experiences, publicity and promotion activities, and jointly promote the excellent practices of certification, accreditation, inspection and testing. It has attracted widespread attention from society and has an important influence in the international industry, becoming an international event brand with Chinese characteristics.

The 2024 Chengdu WORLD ACCREDITATION DAY theme event pointed out that there are a total of 919 inspection and testing institutions and 94 certification institutions in Chengdu. In 2023, more than 10.95 million inspection and testing reports were issued, with an average of more than 30000 reports issued to society every day. They have played an irreplaceable role in ensuring food safety, improving product quality, supporting green and sustainable economic and social development. Currently, the country is actively building a product carbon footprint management system, and Chengdu has successively issued documents such as the "Work Mechanism Plan for Promoting the Construction of a Product Carbon Footprint Management System in Chengdu", actively responding to and implementing national policies. Gou Hongtao, a second level inspector of the Chengdu Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, said, "We also encourage eligible districts (cities), counties, and industries to take the lead in exploring the establishment of a carbon labeling carbon footprint certification system in key areas and mature industries, conducting pilot projects for product carbon footprint carbon neutrality certification, promoting the transformation of the economy and society towards green and low-carbon direction, and enhancing the green and low-carbon competitiveness of Chengdu's key product exports in the international market."
